About Shelby
I am a recent graduate from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. My degree is in Environmental/Field Biology and I graduated Summa Cum Laude and with Honors from my department. I have worked in the Kansas City Zoo's Education Department as an instructor for elementary age students. During college I worked both as a private tutor in chemistry for high school students and as a study session leader for my university's introductory biology course. I have experience both working one-on-one with students and in more collaborative learning style settings. I hope to challenge my students for achieving high standards and introduce them to material in a way that is memorable to them.

I give lessons ranging from 3rd grade to college level students. My background is in Biology and Chemistry. My areas of interest within biology include cell biology, genetics, zoology, ecology, and plant/animal sciences. I use creative methods of learning to engage students in a way that classrooms typically do not in order to create meaningful connections that students can utilize during their path of learning. I hope to push students to challenge themselves and what they think they are capable of to achieve their academic goals.
