About Jinyang
I'm currently a first-year Doctor of Medicine student at Deakin University. Previously I graduated with a Bachelor of Advanced Science degree (major in Biomedical Science) with Honors class I, and studied one year of Doctor of Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne. I've been involved in several research programs and participated in conferences during my undergraduate years.
I've also worked closely with international students when they transitioned to the Australian curriculum and had to learn in their second language. Hence I can bring my study experience as an international student and help them along their journey.
My strong communication skills come from research presentations, panel discussions, volunteering and clinical placement experience as a previous physiotherapy student. Therefore, I will not only teach you about science, but also share some insights if you're curious about working in healthcare.

I will tailor my teaching to the learning style of each student. I will start by clarifying the student's goals (studying for exams, preparing assignments etc.) and check their prior understanding. Then I would explain the tricky concept with examples, illustrations and diagrams, and encourage the student to apply the knowledge in different scenarios. I would also guide their practice, give immediate feedback, answer any questions and plan for the next step. After each session I would encourage the student to follow up with me on their progress and send through their questions or concerns.
I have been tutoring high school biology for two years. My session is usually 1-hour long.
