About Stefanie
Hi, I’m Stefanie! I’m a Purdue University graduate with a degree in Biomedical Science and two years of experience as an Anatomy & Physiology teaching assistant. During my undergraduate studies, I worked closely with students for four semesters in hands-on A&P laboratory settings, helping them understand challenging concepts and prepare for exams and practicals.
My experience has given me a strong understanding of both the academic and practical sides of Anatomy & Physiology. After graduating, I worked as a medical assistant in a pediatrician’s office, where I was able to apply my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and human biology in a real-world healthcare setting.
I understand that A&P can feel like a lot of information to memorize, especially when preparing for an exam or practical. My goal is to make the material feel more manageable by helping students understand how structures and systems work together rather than relying solely on memorization.
I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping students become more confident in their understanding of the human body. Whether you’re struggling with a specific topic, preparing for an upcoming exam, or looking for consistent support throughout your course, I’m here to help you feel prepared and confident in your abilities.

My approach to tutoring is centered around making Anatomy and Physiology understandable, organized, and less overwhelming. As a Purdue University Biomedical Science graduate and former Anatomy & Physiology TA, I spent two years working directly with students and four semesters teaching hands-on laboratory sessions. This experience taught me that students learn best when complex concepts are broken down into smaller, manageable pieces and connected to real-life examples.
I like to first understand how a student learns best and where they are struggling. From there, I tailor each lesson to their specific needs. I use diagrams, labeling exercises, practice questions, active recall, and step-by-step explanations to help students understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I also encourage students to explain concepts back to me in their own words, which helps identify gaps in understanding and builds confidence.
A typical lesson begins by reviewing previously covered material and identifying any areas that need additional clarification. We then focus on the main topic for the session, breaking it down into key structures, functions, and relationships. Depending on the student's needs, we may work through diagrams, practice identifying anatomical structures, apply concepts to clinical examples, or complete practice questions together. I finish each session by reviewing the most important concepts and identifying what the student should continue practicing independently.
What sets me apart is my combination of teaching and clinical experience. I have not only studied Anatomy and Physiology at the university level, but have also spent two years teaching it to undergraduate students in both classroom and laboratory settings. After graduating, I worked as a medical assistant in a pediatrician's office, where I was able to apply my biomedical knowledge in a real healthcare environment. I enjoy showing students how the material they are learning connects to the human body, medicine, and situations they may encounter in future healthcare careers.
I tutor students taking Anatomy and Physiology at the high school, undergraduate, and college level, including students preparing for exams, practicals, laboratory assessments, or students who simply want additional support understanding the course material. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or wants to strengthen their understanding before an important exam, my goal is to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and leave each session feeling more confident in their abilities.
