As a student back in high school, I ever had an opportunity to hone my problem solving skills and had to eventually learn by myself, later on. Therefore, as a first time teacher, I’ll be focused more on making the student understand a certain concept in a way he/she would easily grasp so that they have their fundamentals in place, which would essential help them improve their problem solving abilities. In my opinion, self paced learning is what takes you a long way in your career.
It is a common misconception that biology is all about memorising terms and processes. Life sciences are a beautiful culmination of biology, chemistry, physics and maths. As students in highschool, we're generally never taught the interdependencies of the sciences.
