About Johann

I completed my Bachelor's degree at the London School of Economics (LSE), graduating with high First-Class honours (75) in economics finishing in the top 5% of my cohort. I achieved top percentile marks in all my core math and economics modules (micro, macro and econometrics). I also completed an Erasmus exchange year at Sciences Po, Paris, where I graduated summa cum laude (top 1%) in economics. My master's degree was at the University of Cambridge in MPhil Economics & Data Science where I finished in the top third of my cohort.

Professionally, I have 3+ years experience in global markets at a major European investment bank having worked in credit trading, algorithmic trading and xva trading. I am looking to start tutoring again in my free time as I enjoy discussing these topics and helping students learn. I also have an enhanced DBS check.

Outside of work I play tennis, football and chess (the latter of which I'm proud to say I formerly represented England for). Please note that due to my busy work schedule and the level of quality I wish to provide to each student, I am limited in the number of students I can take on. About the lesson

I have 2 years tutoring experience both online and in-person (being in the UK and Shanghai). I can teach any level upto undergraduate level in economics or finance. I can also teach Python programming and French if that is of interest to you and I also offer guidance on how to get into top universities like Oxbridge and careers in the world of 'high finance'.

I use the same teaching methodology which has worked well for myself and previous students of mine: introducing a concept, understanding it, completing practice questions and repeat. I also make use of visual & audio learning techniques to identify the best way my students learn concepts. My lesson length is flexible upon your preferences but are typically 1 hour long.
