About Olivia
I am in my second year of a PhD at Cambridge following 4 years of undergraduate medical studies, I will return to complete my medical degree following my PhD. I teach in lots of capacities, as a private tutor for GCSE and A-level, as a university level small group teacher (psychology) and as a demonstrator for neuroanatomy.
I love teaching and sharing both passion for my subjects and impeccable exam technique. I achieved 12 A* grades in GSCEs in 2015 and 4 A* along with EPQ A* at my A Levels and was offered places at all of my university applications to read medicine.
I like to combine good teaching of a subject (context, not rigid with the curriculum, teaching to think about a question and topic rather than memorise the answer) with high yield exam answers. UK based exams are formulaic but this isn't the best way to learn, so I like to teach students to be good learners as well as playing the system for top grades.

I tailor my classes to the individuals current areas of focus, for example looking at what topics they are focusing on currently in school and set as homework. I like to extend on points where students are strong, setting more complex problems or trying to identify an underlying concept, and also offer alternate explanations for ideas they may be struggling to grasp in the group setting in school.
