About Lorenzo

I have just graduated from Cambridge University with an MPhil in Economic Research with distinction. I also studied Economics at higher level for the IB. Currently I work on policy evaluation for government projects (basically I do lots of econometrics). I enjoy tutoring on weekends and during the evenings.

About the lesson

Economics is not an easy subject. For every economic question, such as "Do higher interest rates reduce consumption?" or "Is free trade always better for both countries?", there are endless things to take into consideration and many different methods of approaching it. The first step in understanding Economics is boiling it down to the key factors at play, then understanding how these interact. Once you understand how to do this you will be able to tackle any economic problem. Having studied Economics for 6 years and being now an applied economist, I have developed a good intuition at how to approach economic questions and how to explain complex concepts in simple ways. I can help with Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Game theory. I enjoy the mathematical side of Economics but I can also help with essays and dissertations. My teaching style is very flexible, I know some students prefer mathematical derivations while others need an intuitive understanding. I will try to tailor the tutoring sessions to your learning style. My aim is for you to gain a deep understanding of the subject, not to just memorise facts for exams. My lessons are structured like this: Before the lesson: -Have a go at some problems or questions -Send me the problems that you are stuck with (don't send them if you haven't tried them first!) During the lesson: -Work through the problems -Explain the theory behind them (until you feel you actually understand it) -Happy to answer any more questions If you are interested drop me a message! It is very useful for me to get to know you so that I see how I can best help you.
