About Harleen
I am a computer science student at Carleton University minoring in Economics with a strong interest in mathematics and statistics. I have developed solid problem-solving and analytical skills through my academic experience, and I enjoy helping others understand challenging concepts. I am patient, approachable, and committed to making learning less stressful and more effective. My goal is to support students in building confidence, improving their grades, and developing a deeper understanding of math and statistics.

I am a computer science student with a strong foundation in mathematics and statistics, and I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than just memorizing formulas. My teaching approach is centered on breaking down complex problems into simple, logical steps so that students can build confidence and solve questions independently.
My methodology is highly structured and student-focused. I begin by assessing the student’s current level and identifying areas of difficulty. From there, I explain concepts using clear examples, visual methods, and step-by-step problem solving. I also connect topics to real-world applications and, when relevant, show how concepts relate to computer science to make learning more engaging and practical.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by learning a new concept in a simple and understandable way. We then work through guided examples together, and I gradually encourage students to solve problems on their own while I provide support and feedback. I also include practice questions similar to exams to ensure students are well-prepared.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult topics in a clear and patient manner, especially for students who feel stuck or overwhelmed. I focus on building strong fundamentals, improving problem-solving skills, and helping students develop confidence in their abilities.
My lessons are ideal for middle school and high school students, as well as first-year university students who need help with mathematics or introductory statistics. I welcome students at all levels, whether they are aiming to improve their grades, prepare for exams, or strengthen their understanding of core concepts.
