About Jeff

As a 6th grade math teacher, then as a Special Education teacher, and then as a 5th grade math teacher, I've seen great success in bringing up the bottom 25% of students. I have been with my school district for 14 years as a bus driver/teacher without missing a day of work. I have a strong sense of professionalism (side effect of being brought up in the 70s). While I may not understand all the slang of the newest generations, I love working with them and am happy for the opportunity to teach them this life's necessary skills. If I couldn't teach math, I'd rather teach a class on cars. God bless.

About the lesson

I work with whole group, small group, and individuals. My main focus is closing educational gaps in math and in my 5 years, I have been successful in doing so. I have also had success with my students being able to exit special education. My typical lesson starts with me introducing the skill. I then show several examples. Next, the student and I will work problems together. Lastly, they work the problems on their own with support as needed. My lessons are for K-9th grade students of all levels with a focus on the bottom 25%.
