About Maitri

Hi there, we are Harshita and Rathinavel. We have earned our Post-Graduate Diploma in Yoga Education from Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute & Research Centre, Lonavla, India (August 2021 - April 2022), one of the oldest pioneering yoga institutes in the world.

We have completed about :
-700 hours of theory (courses: Anatomy and Physiology of Human Body, Yoga and Mental Health, Foundation of Patanjala Yoga Sutra, Introduction to Hatha Yoga Texts, Foundation of Yoga & Cultural Synthesis, Teaching Methods)
-1000 hours of Practical Sessions ( Advanced Asanas, Shuddhi Kriyas, Mudras, Bandhas, Pranayama, Drishti, Meditation Practices, Mantra Recitation, and Yoganushasanam).
-50 hours of teaching experience (Lesson Plans and Workshops)
-3 hours of presentation skills in:
• Anulome-vilom | Course: Introduction to Hatha Yoga Texts
• Ashtanga Yoga | Course: Foundation of Patanjala Yoga Sutra
• Principles of Yoga to revive the failing Indian education system | Course: Yoga & Cultural Synthesis
• Cultural stress of a middle class family: Yogic perspective and solution | Course: Yoga and Mental Health
• Yoga and Immunity | Course: Anatomy and Physiology
• Bharatanatyam and Yoga | Course: Teaching methods

About the lesson

Each class will incorporate:
-Sukshma Vyayam in the beginning to warm up the muscles and joints.
-Followed by Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga/ Hatha Yoga sequences which focus on reaching your expectations at your pace and comfort.
-Towards the end of the class, we will bring awareness to our breath and calm our mind with Pranayama techniques.

These are also open to modification according to your requirements. The classes will be scheduled according to your convenience and availability. I will help you achieve your goal of self-comfort and self-satisfaction.

Before beginning your journey in Yoga, I will ask about your medical background (past and ongoing) and according to which I will design the sequence of Asanas practices suitable to you. After every class I will ask for your feedback and experience to modify the plan according to your needs and for your gradual improvement.
