About Genevieve

My fascination with chemistry began during my early studies, exploring how molecules interact and react. I pursued a Master’s in Organic Chemistry, gaining deep understanding of reaction mechanisms, molecular structure, and laboratory methods. Over 9 years, I have taught students at all levels, helping them move from confusion to clarity by presenting lessons in a structured, approachable, and practical way.

I focus on making chemistry relatable and understandable. My teaching approach combines clear explanations, real-world examples, and guided exercises to strengthen conceptual knowledge and practical skills. I encourage questioning, exploration, and repeated practice to ensure mastery and confidence. Each lesson is tailored to meet the needs and pace of the individual student, creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Outside teaching, I continue exploring chemical research, reading recent studies, and experimenting with new laboratory techniques. This ongoing engagement allows me to enrich lessons with current applications and practical insights. Teaching chemistry is deeply satisfying because I witness students develop analytical thinking, confidence, and curiosity. Helping learners understand, apply, and enjoy chemistry is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Chemistry can feel complex, but with the right approach, students can learn to appreciate the structure, behaviour, and interactions of molecules. My lessons focus on breaking down chemical principles, reactions, and laboratory techniques into easy-to-understand steps. I teach organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry using relatable examples, simplified explanations, and practical exercises. Lessons emphasise reasoning, problem-solving, and connecting theory to real-world applications. Each session is designed to encourage curiosity, foster analytical thinking, and make chemistry engaging rather than intimidating, ensuring that learners build confidence in both understanding and applying concepts.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s level. Beginners focus on foundational knowledge such as atomic structure, bonding, simple reactions, and periodic trends. Intermediate learners explore reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, titrations, and experimental problem-solving. Advanced students study kinetics, spectroscopy, organic synthesis, and analytical techniques used in real-world laboratory settings. I provide guided exercises, stepwise problem explanations, and continuous feedback to help learners master both theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry.

Studying chemistry also develops critical thinking, observation, and systematic problem-solving skills. Students learn to approach challenges methodically and make reasoned decisions in lab and academic scenarios. They gain confidence in laboratory work, research, and theoretical applications. My goal is to make chemistry approachable, relevant, and inspiring so that learners feel capable of understanding complex ideas, solving problems independently, and applying knowledge creatively in academics, research, or future careers.
