1. Introduction (5 min)
Ask: "If a pizza is divided into 4 equal pieces and you eat 1 piece, what fraction did you eat?"
Introduce the concept of fractions.
2. Explanation (10 min)
Define fraction.
Explain:
Numerator (top number)
Denominator (bottom number)
Use drawings of circles or rectangles divided into equal parts.
3. Examples (10 min)
1/2, 1/4, 3/4, 2/5
Compare simple fractions such as 1/2 and 1/4.
4. Student Activity (10 min)
Give worksheets or ask students to shade fractions in shapes.
Practice identifying numerator and denominator.
5. Recap and Assessment (5 min)
