About Naomi
I hold an MPhil in Chemistry and have spent more than eight years teaching students at various academic levels. My philosophy is to make Chemistry approachable, engaging, and relevant. I focus on helping learners understand why reactions occur, not just how to write them, fostering deep comprehension. In my lessons, I use storytelling, analogies, and real-life examples to illustrate concepts. For example, I explain reaction kinetics through cooking, bonding through construction analogies, and equilibrium through natural ecosystems. This approach helps learners retain information and see the practical significance of Chemistry. I also emphasise analytical thinking and problem-solving. Students work through challenging exercises, develop their reasoning, and learn to apply principles creatively. My mission is to instil curiosity, confidence, and a love for Chemistry that goes beyond textbooks, inspiring learners to explore the science in the world around them.

My Chemistry lessons are structured to build conceptual understanding from the ground up. We start with atomic theory, bonding, and molecular structure, gradually progressing to reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, and chemical kinetics. I emphasise connecting theory to observable phenomena so students can see Chemistry in action. Each lesson incorporates visual aids, 3D models, and interactive simulations to make abstract concepts tangible. Real-world examples, such as environmental chemistry, pharmacology, and material science, help students understand how chemical principles influence daily life and industry. Problem-solving exercises and guided reasoning are central to my approach. Students learn not just to memorise reactions, but to predict outcomes, balance equations, and understand how variables influence chemical behaviour. By the end of the course, students gain a thorough conceptual understanding, practical analytical skills, and the confidence to approach challenging Chemistry problems both in exams and in real-world applications.
