About Leona

My teaching approach in Chemistry is gentle, reflective, and deeply rooted in understanding the mathematical foundations of the subject. I use real-life examples and analogies to help students connect abstract concepts with the world around them. I support learners who are curious, creative, and driven by imagination. About the lesson

I’m a Chemistry tutor with over 3 years of experience and a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry. My passion lies in revealing the hidden world of molecules through the lens of advanced spectroscopic techniques. I specialise in NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and X-ray Diffraction—tools that help us decode molecular structures with precision and elegance. I love guiding students through the art of interpreting spectra and piecing together molecular connectivity. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone confidently identify an unknown compound using just a few clues from spectral data. I break down complex concepts into clear, approachable steps, ensuring you grasp both the theory and application. From analysing spin-spin coupling to solving fragmentation patterns, I aim to build your intuition and confidence. My teaching goes beyond rote learning—I want you to think like a chemist. Every session is a chance to solve a new chemical puzzle using real-world examples and cutting-edge methods.
