About Yutong

Hi! I'm a native Chinese speaker currently in my first year of college, offering Mandarin Chinese tuition for all ages and levels, online or in person in South Dublin. I know exactly what it takes to succeed in Irish Chinese exams because I've sat them myself — I achieved a H1 in Leaving Cert Chinese and 115/120 in my Chinese 初中毕业等级考试 zhongkao, so I understand the exam format, marking scheme, and common pitfalls from a student's perspective, not just a teacher's. I have full access to all Dublin Confucius Institute teaching and exam preparation materials, which I use to build structured, exam-focused lessons for LC and JC students, alongside more relaxed conversational lessons for younger learners or beginners just starting their Chinese journey. As a native speaker, I can also help with authentic pronunciation, natural conversation skills, and cultural context that go beyond the textbook. Lessons are €20-30/hour, with flexible scheduling to fit around school or work commitments. About the lesson

Lessons are tailored to each student's goals and level. For Leaving Cert students, I focus on exam technique — past papers, oral practice, listening comprehension, and written composition — using official Confucius Institute materials so you're studying the same content examiners expect. For beginners or younger learners, lessons are more relaxed and conversation-based, focusing on building confidence with everyday Mandarin, pronunciation (pinyin and tones), and basic reading/writing through games, dialogue, and simple exercises. Whatever your level, I keep lessons interactive rather than just lecture-style — plenty of speaking practice, real-time correction, and materials adapted to how you learn best. Each session is 1 hour, available online via video call or in person in South Dublin, and I'm happy to set homework or extra practice between lessons if that's helpful for your progress.
