About Nigel

I am a graduate of the University of Alabama. There I studied Music Performance and then became
an Undergraduate Teacher at the University of Alabama. Prior to teaching at the University of Alabama, I was an instructor for Musical Beginning, a piano organization which provides private and group instruction to schools in the Tuscaloosa area. I am also on staff for the Northport Institute of Music, and independent organization which also provides music instruction to students in the Tuscaloosa area. My students have seated in All State Band, Orchestra, and in local Youth Orchestras.

I have also held the Director of Music and Worship position at Greater Faith Christian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Along with teaching I also maintain an active performing schedule throughout the Southeast.

About the lesson

I am a creative teacher. I find different ways to help the student meet their goals and become better overal musicians. My teaching is theory based. I make sure a student grasps the full concept so that they can then go and practice efficiently by themselves. I am always available to my students and love helping them connect and grasp a deeper understanding of music.
