About Giusi

As a classically trained violinist with a strong foundation from the Conservatory in Italy, I have honed my skills through years of disciplined study and performance. However, my musical journey doesn't stop there—over the years, I have also developed expertise in a wide range of styles, from classical and contemporary to Cabo-Verdean jazz, folk, fado and beyond. This versatility enables me to approach violin teaching from a well-rounded perspective, offering a rich, diverse learning experience. In my lessons, I combine the precision of classical technique with an open-minded approach to various musical genres. Whether you're a classical purist or looking to explore other styles, I bring a comprehensive understanding of violin playing that can be adapted to meet your specific interests and goals. My background as a versatile musician allows me to offer insights not only into the technical side of violin playing but also into musicality, improvisation, and the nuances of interpreting different musical traditions. This expertise enables me to provide students with a more holistic understanding of the instrument, guiding them through both the technical and artistic aspects of performance. Through my lessons, you will gain a strong technical foundation while developing the flexibility to navigate different musical genres with ease, confidence, and musical expression.

About the lesson

I prioritize classical technique as the foundation for all violin playing, believing that mastering classical fundamentals allows you to apply them seamlessly to any musical style or genre. This strong technical base will empower you to express yourself fully, whether you’re interested in classical, contemporary, jazz, or even improvisation.

Personalized Lessons:
Every student is unique, and so are their learning styles and musical goals. I design each lesson specifically for you, taking into account your pace, musical preferences, and areas of interest. Whether you’re focused on refining your technique, expanding your repertoire, or improving your musical expression, we’ll work together to ensure your lessons are both productive and enjoyable.

Comprehensive Approach:
My lessons cover all essential aspects of violin playing:

Classical Technique: We’ll perfect your posture, bowing technique, and finger placement, which are the building blocks for any style of music.
Musicality: Developing a deep sense of musical expression is key. Together, we’ll explore dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation to bring your playing to life.
Repertoire Variety: From the great classical masters to modern and diverse genres, you’ll build a well-rounded repertoire suited to your interests and performance goals.
Problem-Solving: We’ll tackle common challenges such as tension, intonation, rhythm, and coordination with targeted exercises and practical advice, ensuring you feel confident in every aspect of your playing.
