My teaching philosophy is rooted in the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, combined with the Lexical Approach. The goal is not just to memorize grammar rules, but to use the language naturally in real-life contexts.
Guided Discovery: Instead of just giving definitions, I guide students to notice language patterns, collocations, and context clues on their own. This builds deeper retention.
The Lexical Approach: I focus heavily on chunks of language—word partnerships, idiomatic expressions, and natural collocations—rather than isolated vocabulary words.
The 80/20 Rule (Student-Centered): I aim for a 20% teacher-talking time and 80% student-talking time ratio. Language is a skill to be practiced, not just a subject to be listened to.
Scaffolded Error Correction: I use delayed correction during fluency activities so as not to interrupt the student's train of thought, followed by constructive, positive feedback at the end of the task
