About Matthew
I'm interested in helping students to enjoy science and maths and to encourage them to look beyond the syllabus. Often this first requires establishing a grounding in the basics through allowing students to work through areas of difficulty and confusion at their own speed. Once this has been achieved, I look forward to seeing my students look more widely at the subject and engage with discussions around a variety of topics.

The student is at the centre of my teaching approach which focuses on working through areas of difficulty thoroughly to build a solid foundation before moving on. I am interested particularly in encouraging students to engage with the material in a guided way rather than lecturing them.
Exam focussed preparation is also available, especially going over mock assessments and past papers to clarify areas where marks have been lost.
Typical lessons would be 1-2 hours as appropriate but shorter sessions could be arranged as needed.
Students up to GCSE level.
