About Jinny
My name is Jinny, and I’m passionate about helping students discover their full potential. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and am currently a medical student at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where I’ve learned the value of patience, persistence, and clear thinking.
In my tutoring, I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — because that’s how true learning happens. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s pace and goals, combining structured practice with real understanding.
I aim to help students not only master the material but also gain confidence in their abilities. Together, we build strategies, reinforce concepts, and celebrate progress along the way. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling capable, motivated, and ready to tackle any challenge with confidence.

My tutoring style is structured, analytical, and personalized to each student’s learning style and goals. I have a vast experience in tutoring and mentoring as a private tutor, supplemental instruction leader and teaching assistant throughout college.
I focus on building strong foundations first, then layering in application and exam strategy. A typical lesson includes a brief diagnostic review, targeted concept teaching, guided practice, and independent problem-solving with detailed feedback. I emphasize active recall, pattern recognition, and strategic thinking — especially for SAT, ACT, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and advanced math courses.
What sets me apart is my ability to simplify complex material without watering it down. My training in neuroscience and medicine allows me to teach students how to think critically and approach unfamiliar problems with confidence. My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, AP, and early college STEM students who want both higher scores and deeper understanding.
