About Charles
Background & Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northern Kentucky University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati.
I have dedicated my 20-year career to higher education mathematics, helping hundreds of students build confidence and master everything from foundational arithmetic to advanced calculus. My background includes 15 years as a faculty member at Gateway Community and Technical College in Covington, KY, along with several years teaching at Cincinnati State. I currently serve as a Mathematics faculty member at UC Clermont College.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe anyone can excel at math with the right explanation and structure. Having taught diverse groups of college students for two decades, I know exactly where people tend to get stuck and how to break down complex concepts into simple, visual steps. I love helping students move past math anxiety and achieve real breakthroughs in their coursework.

My Approach
With 20 years of college math teaching experience from arithmetic through Calculus 2, I focus on building clear conceptual understanding and confidence. I use a live document camera setup (and can quickly help you turn your smartphone into one too!) so we never waste time typing out complex math symbols. After each session, I also provide an AI-generated summary of our lesson so you have an organized reference of everything we covered.
