About Lauren
I am a Sophomore at George Washington University studying Journalism and Marketing. I have always taken an interest in teaching because of my personal academic background. I remember many nights sitting at my kitchen counter with my dad screaming at me because I didn't understand how to solve a math problem. I don't want a student to get so frustrated they "run away" from all things regarding academics because they believe school is not a strength of theirs. School is for everyone, all of our brains just process information differently. Throughout high school, I tutored elementary-aged students in an after-school program. In college so far, I have student-taught a middle school science class. I want every student to have academic faith in themself.

I want students to be excited about what they are learning. I will not tell a student they did something wrong and instead teach them the correct way to do it so they feel empowered. I struggled academically until high school, and it wasn't because I couldn't do keep up with course material. It was because I didn't believe in myself. I will foster a strong academic foundation in students so they feel confident on their lifelong academic journey. Each lesson will be tailored to what the student is learning in school.
