About Darren
Hello! My name is Darren De León. I am a classical Baritone who has studied vocal performance for 6 years. I began at LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and am now at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. I have performed with various choirs in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Riverside Church, alongside incredibly talented performers. I also performed as the lead in a fully staged Operetta. I am now studying music education and continuing my performance studies in college.
My Goal is to encourage new and practicing voices to explore their range as performers and have fun learning all kinds of music! I urge my students to sing with their most authentic voices without strain or tension and establish manageable and ambitious goals to reach in our sessions.

Students will have lessons tailored to their unique pedagogical and vocal needs. Geared toward middle- and high-school-level singers who want to learn or improve on existing vocal techniques, though all ages are welcome. Lessons would begin with familiarizing ourselves with the voice and exploring interest in style and genre. Continuing students will build basic techniques and learn best practices and etiquette. Students will be able to learn pieces in various styles and languages, as well as the history behind the music they practice.
