About Laura
I have done several internships with news agencies in different countries (BBC, CNN, Agence France Presse, tourist magazines in Cuba). I have also been a staff writer for the Columbia Daily Spectator. Additionally, I currently work for the Columbia University Admissions Office as a member of the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee where I interview prospective students, answer to their inquiries, give campus tours to visitors, among other things. This has given me knowledge on interview skills, which I would be happy to share with students applying to universities.

My teaching method is to encourage students to communicate as much as possible and go through a detailed, thorough review of their sentences to fix grammar mistakes. I strongly believe that practice is the best method to learn. I offer conversation classes as well as more writing-focused ones, and even mock interview sessions if needed.
