About Shay
I learned how to code at a two-week summer boot camp when I was 17--I came back the next summer as an instructor assistant. Since then, I've fallen in love with teaching and mentoring in math and computer science!
I have seen students go from learning what a print statement is, to building a website in a matter of days. So, to me, no concept is impossible to grasp with the right type of guidance.
I bring experience working with a diverse range of ages and backgrounds, so I understand how to work with different learning styles. I like to keep a positive and patient environment, but will always challenge you to grasp concepts to the best of your ability!

With a background in teaching and tutoring STEM concepts, I take a personalized approach in helping you achieve your goals--whether that's to pass a test or build a project!
I've worked with ages 6-18, so I'm prepared to help teach/tutor computer science and math at all levels. Additionally, as a senior in college, I understand how young minds work while also having a deep understanding of the concepts I'm teaching.

working through a given or sample problem collaboratively
reviewing the fundamental concepts covered by said problem
applying the new understanding to other similar problems
I keep an optimistic approach because I genuinely believe in a student's ability to master a concept with the right guidance.
