About Destiny

I have been a math teacher for 3 years at a school with extremely diverse skill levels. I am able to meet students at any level and help them meet their goals and surpass them quickly. I also am often described by my students as kind, funny, and someone they can talk to.

About the lesson

Most students come into my classroom with an idea that they aren't good at math, and they don't like it (totally fair). By the time they leave, they have more confidence in their skills, and they're excited to learn more 'fun math things'! My lessons are engaging and fun, as well as take into account real world applications. Plus, I'm used to a classroom environment, so my lessons are adaptable and I am able to meet students anywhere their ability level is.

Deadly! My daughter loved her lesson with Destiny. She finds her stimulating, fun and a great teacher.
From my point of view I wanted to find a qualified teacher with real experience of teaching math to my daughter who could encourage her to develop her math skills even further.
I think we have found exactly the right person - and my daughter is delighted because she knows how to make math exciting.

Hadia has amazing initiative! If she even has an idea of what to do for a problem, she'll try it out. We're working on some core concepts like simplifying and graphing by hand, and her confidence level in herself. As well, she states that she struggles with mental math, especially with positive and negative numbers, so we're going to practice a lot of that while reviewing those core concepts. Overall, Hadia has a great foundation of math, and will be able to continue growing it with no problem!
