About Danny
Hi I'm currently a second-year UNSW student studying bachelor of actuarial studies and advanced mathematics. In my HSC, I achieved a mark of 98 in math advanced and 96 in math extension 1. With over 2 years of private tutoring experience, I am confident in my abilities to improve students' marks, ranks, targeting their weaknesses, but still providing a positive, welcoming, and friendly environment where students feel comfortable. I like to start by assessing the student's current level of understanding and identifying any areas where they need additional support. From there, I work to create a lesson plan that incorporates a variety of teaching techniques, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and interactive discussions. Throughout the tutoring sessions, I encourage my students to ask questions and engage in critical thinking to develop a deeper understanding of the material. I have a thorough understanding of what schools are looking for, with a plethora of resources, such as practice questions and exams that I am able to provide. I hope to be a friend, who not only grows a student's marks, but their confidence and passion for a subject as well. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. My teaching philosophy is centered around building a strong foundation of fundamental concepts and problem-solving skills. I use a variety of methods such as real-life examples, visual aids, and hands-on activities to help students understand math concepts, I'll be also providing some of my own valuable tips and tricks that I learnt from past experience. As a tutor, I am patient and understanding, tailoring my teaching methods to meet the individual needs of my students.
