About George

I am very passionate both about teaching and geography, and I am a firm believer that excellent teaching can be a transformative force. I will make our lessons equally informal and productive as I believe establishing a comfortable, colloquial tutee-tutor relationship is the most effective way to learn, not overly formal, lecture style monologues that leave the student more confused than when they started. I am an expert in physical geography but am equally enthusiastic about human geography seeing both in equal measure as fascinating disciplines. I have prior teaching experience having helped teach Year 7 Geography lessons in my sixth form days and have excelled academically at university meaning I can help with writing essays, especially when it comes to being critical which is the key to achieving high marks.

About the lesson

My approach to lessons will focus on allowing tutees to understand the key processes involved and finding appropriate case studies that match those specified on the official GCSE/A-Level specification thus enabling them to receive very high grades in their examinations. I am generally flexible on time and seek to do my teaching online. I myself received an A grade at both GCSE and A-Level and have achieved first class honours in my three years of university at a top Russell Group institution ranked 15th in the world for geography. I also have two years experience supporting Year 7 and 8 Geography lessons during sixth form including leading parts of the lesson. A typical lesson will last 60 minutes and I seek to make these sessions as constructive as possible.
