Mathews is an acquaintance of mine who has previously been assisting me with revisions as a 1st year varsity student. He has show great compassion in assisting me by suggesting new study methods such as using visuals or audio to enhance my learning capabilities. He is a people’s person who is always eager to help and he has constantly shown patience and kindness as he takes his time to explain a concept in different approaches. Mathews is empathetic, he considers others feelings and thoughts. Mathews has shown great listening and clear communication skills.He is diverse as he makes an effort to understand and learn different languages. One of his effective teaching styles is facilitating. This is whereby he would create discussion about the topic to gain the different opinions or insight. This creates a broader understanding of the topic as new perspectives are shared. He would break a topic down into subtopics using mind maps and graphs to make the information easier to understand. Mathews is a curious person who has shown interest in being knowledgeable which makes it easier for him to assist others. He does not discourage anyone nor does he give up on helping others. Furthermore, he constantly advocates that one must believe in themselves and one must have confidence as no one else would believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself. He believes that every great thing starts within oneself. I highly recommend Mathews as tutor.

Mathews is a very hardworking person. I taught him Tourism from grade 10-12.A student with passion in his studies,eager to help others at all times.He is very patient when it comes to helping students especially in group work.He does lesson presentation clearly for everyone to understand. A very committed person and does his work diligently, his matric results are outstanding. He has been a best learner in Geography and Tourism at school. He is always willing to help because when explaining to other students, they clearly gain and I trust that he can make it further at higher institutions. He is a dedicated tutor to others needing help.

I’ve know Mathews for only a few months and I can say it’s been a blessing or more of an honour getting to know him. I’ve learnt a lot from the guy , his very intellectual & always willing to offer a helping hand academically and in life generally. I truly believe that he’s competent within the Geography field , considering his passion and ambition to teach and instilling knowledge on other people .
