My background in biology stems from both academic and personal interest. I completed Grade 12 Biology and have taken undergraduate-level courses in the subject. As a mature student, biology continues to captivate me—I regularly explore new material and refer to my collection of dozens of biology-related eBooks when curious questions arise in real-life contexts.
In terms of teaching approach, I specialize in one-on-one instruction, which allows me to prepare extensively before introducing a topic to the student. I tailor each session based on their learning style and encourage the use of online videos to illustrate complex concepts that words alone may not adequately convey. Being a visual learner myself, I often rely on diagrammatic illustrations and examples to help explain detailed processes within biology.
Additionally, I recently held a position as an emergency replacement support staff member with the Toronto District School Board, which equipped me with valuable experience in educational environments. My goal is to make biology not only understandable, but engaging and relatable.
