About Asha
Hello! I hold an MSc and have spent over 4 years tutoring Physics to more than 200 students, from those just beginning their GCSE studies all the way through to undergraduates navigating advanced Electromagnetism, Statistical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics modules. Physics has been a passion of mine throughout my education and career, and that passion genuinely comes through in every lesson I deliver — students frequently tell me that my enthusiasm for the subject makes their sessions feel engaging and motivating in a way that classroom teaching often does not.
My specialist areas within Physics include Classical Mechanics (kinematics, dynamics, rotational motion, gravitation), Waves and Optics, Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics, Electromagnetism (electric and magnetic fields, circuits, electromagnetic induction, Maxwell's equations at university level), Nuclear and Particle Physics, and Quantum Mechanics. I also provide strong support for the mathematical tools that Physics at every level demands, including differential and integral calculus, vectors, complex numbers, and for university students, differential equations and vector calculus.
I am patient, organized, and deeply committed to helping every student I work with achieve their full potential. I have helped students who were genuinely failing Physics turn it into one of their best subjects, and I bring the same dedication and high standards to every student I work with, whether they are aiming to scrape a pass or targeting the very highest grades for a competitive university application.

Teaching Physics effectively requires developing two things simultaneously: deep conceptual understanding of the physical principles involved, and strong mathematical ability to apply those principles to solve quantitative problems accurately and confidently. My teaching methodology is specifically designed to build both of these abilities in parallel, because neither alone is sufficient — a student who understands concepts but cannot solve problems will not get top marks, and a student who can manipulate equations but does not understand the physics will be completely lost when faced with any unfamiliar question type.
I begin each new topic by grounding it firmly in real-world context. I explain not just what the physics is, but why it matters and where students would actually encounter it in the world around them. This approach immediately makes the subject feel more relevant and interesting, and it also gives students a powerful intuitive framework for checking whether their quantitative answers are physically reasonable. From there, I move into a structured cycle of concept explanation, formula derivation with full reasoning, worked examples, and independent practice problems.
I never simply hand students a formula and tell them to memorize it. I always make sure they understand where it comes from, what each variable represents physically, and what assumptions have been made in its derivation — because this is what gives students the flexibility and confidence to adapt their knowledge to any question, including unfamiliar ones. Past paper practice is central to my exam preparation approach, and I teach students a reliable, step-by-step method for tackling any Physics question under exam conditions. Unit analysis, significant figures, graphical interpretation, and experimental design are also areas I cover thoroughly, as they are consistently tested by examiners and consistently under-prepared by most students.
