Deadly! I had a lesson with Dr Amy online via Zoom. Despite the time difference (I live in Dubai) and being late to contact Dr Amy, she responded to me instantly. I realised that I am struggling with a transgenic plant based lab report that I did not had the chance to imagine how the laboratory worked and these transgenic plants were generated. Amy helped me with getting a sense of how these transgenic lines in Arabidopsis, potato and tomato models were made via GUS and GFP markers. She gave me clues and a well structured plan on how to construct my lab report focusing on the introduction, results and discussion. Dr Amy, provided me with a variety of online resources that helped me to identify and address the promoters that are expressed by markers (including providing helpful plants databases servers and teaching me access them). Additionally she gave me advices relating to plant science research area that helped me to shape and think deeply regarding my future. I am looking forward to have more sessions with Dr Amy as I am applying to a plant sciences based internship and hopefully she will review my application documents and helping me to prepare for my exams by explaining topics I could not understand and provide me with important exam tips.
