About Kesavan
I started by doing my undergraduate in Chemistry and went on to specialise in Organic Chemistry in my Masters. Not only did I enjoy reading chemistry books but absolutely loved working in the lab. I’m hands on with experimental chemistry too! This took me to do my PhD in Green Chemistry using supercritical fluids, at the university of Nottingham, with the aim of contributing towards a sustainable future. I investigated and worked on developing a greener route to Ibuprofen synthesis during which time I realised I was not only a chemist but also a chemical engineering in the making. Pure science and applied science together to go from R&D towards innovation and technology. I then went on to work in the field of alternative fuels for 6 years at the University of Bath, collaborating with big companies such as BP.

I am very passionate about chemistry as a subject. It is a wonderful science as everything in this world has chemistry and physics in it. I know many think that it’s a hard subject but believe me, once you start understanding the science, it’s a smith sale. There is nothing to fear about the subject. It’s a bit like cooking. Once you learn the art of chemistry, Bob’s your uncle!
