About Clara

I am a Leeds Conservatoire graduate based in South Cheshire. While studying I helped to run the entry auditions for the drama school, so have seen hundreds of auditions and have first-hand experience of being a performer auditioning. I graduated in 2025 so can confidently say I know what panels are looking for at this moment in time, and how to approach auditioning in an increasingly digital world (hello self-tape first rounds!). I remember so clearly what those auditions feel like, especially the first time you’re applying, and would love to support students in that journey.

Since training I have worked as an Assistant Director, have taken part in various theatres’ Research and Development projects, and have been on both sides of professional audition panels. I’ve also started leading workshops with local schools and colleges in acting.

I enjoy working with people who are passionate about performance and who love to act. Especially as a teenager, I remember how much I loved my acting classes and how much joy and release they brought me each week, and would love to offer that to others. But drama school and arts industry aside, if you just want to try something new and challenge yourself or build confidence, I'll happily facilitate that too. Acting is a joy and I love to help people play with it, whether for the first time or the seven-hundredth.

About the lesson

Each lesson is personally tailored to the individual student and their goals; whether you have aspirations of getting into drama school, want to flex your acting muscles for the love of the craft, or want to try something new and build your confidence, I can deliver lessons geared towards your aims.

Rest assured you’ll be up on your feet acting in every class! I love theory but I believe the way to really develop as an actor is to do as much of it as possible, so we’ll work from a practical place and bring any theoretical analysis into the body and up on our feet. I love all things stories, from Shakespeare to new writing to screenplays, so can help with finding monologues that show off the best of you and, most importantly, that you enjoy performing. We can tackle audition prep, work on public speaking, or ongoing acting development.
