About Elyse

My interest in economics originates from a curiosity about the forces shaping markets, policies, and societal behavior. I pursued a B.A. in Economics and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics, gaining expertise in theoretical modeling, data analysis, and applied economic policy evaluation. Over 11 years, I have guided learners in developing both conceptual understanding and practical analytical skills, helping them approach economic problems with confidence and clarity while nurturing critical thinking.

I emphasize a teaching approach that is interactive, patient, and engaging. Many students initially struggle with abstract models, statistical data, or policy implications, so I break lessons into manageable steps, use practical examples, and encourage reflective discussion. This fosters independent reasoning, analytical skill, and curiosity, ensuring that learners develop confidence in their ability to navigate economic challenges.

Beyond teaching, I engage with current research, global economic developments, and policy analysis to enrich lessons with practical relevance. This allows students to see the real-world applications of theory, deepening understanding and interest. Observing learners progress from uncertainty to mastery, gain confidence, and apply economic reasoning thoughtfully is deeply rewarding. Supporting students to excel academically while cultivating a genuine appreciation for economics remains the central focus of my work.

Economics lessons are most effective when students can connect theoretical models to real-world economic phenomena and policy implications. My teaching covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, market structures, game theory, behavioral economics, and development strategies. I emphasize conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and data-driven problem-solving, enabling learners to understand complex relationships and make informed decisions. Lessons incorporate case studies, interactive discussions, real-life examples, and quantitative exercises, helping students develop critical thinking, practical insight, and confidence in their ability to analyze economic systems.

I tailor lessons to individual needs. Beginners start with fundamental principles, supply-demand analysis, and basic quantitative skills. Intermediate learners explore fiscal and monetary policy, elasticity, market equilibrium, and applied econometrics. Advanced learners engage with complex modeling, policy evaluation, optimization, and statistical data interpretation. Each class balances theory, guided exercises, and discussion to develop analytical skill, independent thinking, and conceptual mastery in economics.

Economics instruction also fosters transferable skills such as structured reasoning, informed decision-making, and data interpretation. Students learn to critically evaluate economic scenarios, predict outcomes, and interpret policy implications accurately. Many learners feel empowered as they translate theory into practical understanding of markets and society. My goal is to cultivate both academic excellence and curiosity in economics, equipping students with a robust toolkit for study, professional applications, and informed participation in real-world economic analysis.
