About Devonne
I love teaching and have been working with kids for over a decade! I started my journey at the YMCA, helping students with their homework after school—and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed supporting their learning. That experience led me to become a full-time teacher, and I haven’t looked back since! Whether I’m in the classroom or leading summer camp activities, I spend my year surrounded by students. I’m passionate about helping kids grow, learn, and feel inspired. My goal is always to make learning fun, meaningful, and something students can feel proud of.

I love teaching and getting to know my students! I believe that learning happens best when students feel comfortable, supported, and connected. I take time to learn what each student likes so I can make lessons more fun and meaningful.
In a typical lesson, we start with a quick review or warm-up, move into the main topic with clear examples, and then practice together. I always encourage questions and celebrate those “aha” moments when things finally click!
I tutor elementary and middle school students in social studies and reading. Whether your child needs help understanding history or improving reading skills, I’m here to help in a way that makes learning easier and more enjoyable.
What makes me different is the way I connect with my students. I don’t just teach—I build real relationships that help students feel confident and excited to learn.
