About Maggie
I was lucky enough to have a kind and very enthusiastic Maths teacher throughout my school years, who inspired me to share my love of Maths with others.
I understand students often struggle with confidence when it comes to Maths, and my main aim is to explain how to tackle problems step by step to ensure that the student feels as confident as possible entering the classroom and the exam hall.
Having been a tutor for 2 years already, I am aware that all students learn in different ways, which is why I believe a one-on-one approach is often more beneficial than learning in a classroom. I will tailor sessions specifically depending on how the student learns best, whether that be more visual or more discussion-based, for example.
Finally, I really enjoy being able to see the student's progress and seeing their confidence grow, and I am certain I will be able to provide an enthusiastic, fun and safe environment where no question is a bad question!

I offer flexible, around an hour long sessions that begin with a starter, recapping previously covered topics to make sure nothing is forgotten.
In our first few sessions, I normally use a range of questions to understand which topics need more attention and from then I will create tailored sessions with explanations and lots of questions. I will also intersperse these sessions with exam question practice, varying depending on the student's needs.
I encourage lots of discussion to make sure 100 per cent of all questions are understood.
I have worked as a tutor for 2 years with three different students, and have been able to increase not only their test scores and grades, but also their confidence. Having completed my A Levels this summer and achieving A*s in both Maths and Further Maths A Level, the GCSE and A Level courses are very fresh in my mind.
