Editor, free-lance from London 2014- 2016
After the end of my working relationship with Et al., following the closure of the publishing house where I used to work, I continued collaborating from London with Italian publishing houses, mainly evaluating books and writing reviews about them.
Editor, Et al./EDIZIONI, Milano, (concealed information) 2011-2013
I worked for two years in a small publishing house in Milan. My main activities were proofreading, editing, cross-checking, writing book’s cover, managing contacts with authors and translators, valuing manuscripts and writing reviews about them.
This placement has enabled me to develop not only a specific experience in this field but also valuable and transferable skills, like accuracy and the ability to work independently under pressure and with strict and very close deadlines.
Stage in the press area, Pisani Editore, Milano, (concealed information) July 2011
Immediately after my graduation, in 2011, I served an internship in the editorial office of the fashion magazine “Linea Intima”. My chief tasks were writing articles about events or about the latest fashions, keeping in contact with brands, shops and press agencies, searching and cataloguing iconographical materials, translating small articles from English or from French into Italian.
Teacher assistant, IAO Centro d’arte pedagogica, Milano 2009-2011
During my university studies I worked as a teacher assistant in a Steiner school of Milan: my tasks were to organize creative workshops with children from six to thirteen years old. In my groups, I proposed activities with carded wool, felt, clay or recycled materials, trying to guide and to encourage each child to find and to express his own distinctive ability, gaining self-confidence, and learning to observe rules and to integrate into the group. Art can be a powerful way to teach patience, diligence and respect for others.
