About Christina

Hi! My name is Christina and I’m really excited about the opportunity to help you learn Greek. A little bit about me — I studied Law at the University of Cyprus and later completed my Master’s degree in Human Rights Law at Queen Mary University of London. Since then, I’ve worked as a lawyer both in Cyprus, at the European Commission in Belgium and London. I’m currently working in Contracts and Procurement for local government here in the UK. Greek is my native language, but I also speak English fluently — it’s the language we use at home every day. I’m comfortable using both languages in both professional and academic settings, and I love helping people feel more confident when learning a new language. Teaching is something I’m really passionate about because it’s not just about sharing knowledge — it’s about creating a space for interesting conversations, cultural exchange, and learning from each other. I look forward to making our lessons enjoyable, supportive, and tailored to your needs. I’m really looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey to learning Greek!

About the lesson

I like to keep my classes fun, interactive, and adapted to each student’s needs. I truly believe that learning a language should never feel boring — it should be engaging, full of conversation, visuals, and moments of discovery. My teaching style is flexible and tailored to every student — whether you’re a complete beginner, brushing up your skills, or looking to connect with your Greek or Cypriot roots. I always adapt my lessons to suit your goals, learning style, and pace. In my classes, I love exploring the etymology of Greek words — it’s a great way to understand the richness of the Greek language and its connection to history and culture. And as a Cypriot, I can also share the equivalent words or expressions in both standard Greek and the Cypriot dialect, which can be really helpful for students with Cypriot heritage. Most importantly, I aim to teach in a way that stays with you — so you don’t just memorise words for a day, but truly understand them and feel comfortable using them in real life. Learning Greek should be an enjoyable experience, and I’m here to make sure you feel supported and motivated every step of the way!

Christina is an excellent teacher. Christina discussed what I would like to focus on when learning Cypriot dialect-Greek and assessed my level with an informal chat. Since that time Christina has effectively taught me the basics that I was not confident with, up to more complicated parts of speech. It is a pleasure to be her student and her style of teaching makes me appreciate and enjoy the language.

Christina is a wonderful teacher! She’s very patient and does a really good job of breaking things down to understand easily. Not only that but she makes a big effort with creating content for things outside of the standard curriculum to keep the lessons enjoyable and challenging. I feel so much more confident with my Greek and I am so glad that I found her!

Christina is a wonderful tutor, I would highly recommend!! She’s patient, intelligent, kind and understanding which are qualities I think are very important in a tutor as learning a new language can feel quite overwhelming sometimes. Christina understands that everyone learns at their own pace. Since she is Cypriot too she is able to teach both Greek and Greek Cypriot which is great for many of us Cypriots growing up abroad!
