About Tim
I love tutoring because interacting with students and helping them understand and learn something new is one of the great joys of my life. I have taught Math for over 30 years and have learned how to work with students no matter where they are at. Some students want to better understand what their teacher is teaching them or need help with homework. Some want to work on prerequisite math skills to help them do better in their current class. Some students are already great in math but want to excel or prepare for higher level classes. Whatever your math goals are, my job will be to help you achieve it.

Anyone can learn math! But many students don't believe that. I will help you learn the skills you need to be successful in your math classes. At the same time, you will build your confidence and faith in yourself. You will learn that the mistakes you make, while learning, are not bad but the greatest learning tool you have. So, you don't have to fear mistakes but instead embrace them as a step in the learning process. My style of teaching is designed to be positive and engaging. I use multiple teaching strategies because no single strategy works for all students. In life or Math, the most important thing I want students to learn is, "NEVER GIVE UP!"
I specialize in Middle School math (Grades 6-8) and Algebra 1.
