About Khushi
Hi! I am a dedicated science student who loves making biology concepts simple and connecting them with our real life. Because I am currently immersed in my own advanced studies, I know the firsthand experience of how overwhelming it can feel to be bombarded by scientific vocabulary and concepts. What I also know is to break them down so they finally make sense.
I decided to become a tutor on Superprof because I love helping middle and high schoolers hit those satisfying "lightbulb moments" when a concept clicks. I aim to promote a stress-free environment as I understand the pressure of modern school coursework.
In my free time, I love exploring similar areas like psychology, neuroscience, etc. From my journey as a student so far, I discovered that curiosity is an important tool/skill that makes learning enjoyable. I'm excited to share my enthusiasm and curiosity for science and guide you to explore and clarify biological concepts.

My lessons are for middle and high schoolers. They are designed to be interactive, supportive and tailored to promote active learning. I don't believe in boring, one-way lectures or forcing students to just memorize text. Instead, I encourage students to explore and break down the biology concepts with me.
Here is how my sessions often look like :
1) Active exploration : We start with looking at the core definition. Before explaining, I ask the student what the definition tells them. This helps with engagement as well as gauging their understanding.
2) Concept explanation : I break down the concept using analogies, clear explanations and diagrams where needed to help them clearly understand and connect with biology.
3) Understanding check : We will tackle a few targeted questions together. This boost their application skills and confidence in their understanding of the topic.
4) Open Q&A : I provide a safe space for students to ask any questions they may have. I love to promote curiosity in my class.
5) Textbook alignment : Lastly we bridge everything back to their school textbook. This includes reading the text material, in order to help them connect the textbook matter with what they just learnt.
My goal is to bring clarity, provide tools to ace their exams as well as encourage curiosity, as in my opinion curiosity is the fuel to learning.
