About Emma
I am a graduate of Biology with Management (4 Year) Joint-Honours at Imperial College London, where I gained First Class Honours. I specialised in Ecology, and had the opportunity to undertake a research project at the Natural History Museum. I am passionate about the subject, helping students fulfil their potential, and fuelling a love of learning. I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, remaining flexible to a specific students exam board, ability, and educational needs.
I also tutor 11+ Exam Preparation in Mathematics, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. I personally sat five 11+ examinations, gaining acceptance for both the grammar schools, and large scholarships to the three private schools. I therefore understand what is necessary to succeed in these exams, but can also empathise with pupils about how to deal with such significant exams at such a young age.
I have experience tutoring 11+ examinations in Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, and younger students in Mathematics. I also have informal tutoring experience in biology, and through teaching young people through hockey coaching and the Combined Cadets Force. I am well practised at breaking down complex ideas through running stands at Science Fairs, and through communicating my research projects to my peers.
