Hi there! My name is Francine Phillips, people usually call me Fran. I have an extreme love and passion for environmental conservation and math! I have approximately seven months of experience teaching algebra and geometry to 9th-grade students through my time with Saga Education. During this time, I tutored a group of 1-4 students for six class periods. Even though my time with Saga was brief, it had a significant impact on me. I didn't usually follow the typical tutoring methods for my lessons; instead, I found it more effective to customize the lessons according to my students' interests. This approach led to a more personalized learning experience. For example, most of them were all about anime and video games. So, I'd rework the questions to match those interests. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I’m have an empathetic nature which helps me I genuinely understand my students' challenges. I recognize how hard learning is and I believe with proper help and encouragement, every student can stride to be the best!
