About Maitreyi
I am currently a masters student, 21, pursuing Msc. Agroecology. My course does not require me to be on campus for weeks on end and hence want to spend that time helping other people in some way or another. I've always thought teaching and/or academic guidance has always been my strong point. Therefore, I decided to teach Geography as it has always been one of my better subjects through school and sixth form. Not the most popular or liked subject haha but I reckon it can be made interesting with a bit of creative teaching tweaks. I love helping others and I think this is a great way of doing so. I am willing to go out of my way to ensure students with me polish their concepts and strategise their exam writing methods. Most importantly, I believe I can make students like a subject they're not very keen on.

I think teaching a subject has to align with how the student thinks. Therefore, giving real life examples of events relevant to the subject being taught while suiting the student's interests would work best.
Typical length of a lesson would depend on the student but ideally it should be between 60-90 minutes.
I do not have formal qualifications as a tutor. I know I am good at teaching because I explained concepts to my university friends all the time when they got stuck in assignments. Their positive opinion of my explanation and teaching methods is what motivates me to apply for this job. My friends understood concepts because of the way I explained and in the end they did pass their exams with decent scores.
My lessons are for students anywhere between the age of 14 - 18. I can do lower ages as well.
