About Matthew
Education:
I am a professional accountant (CPA, CA) and have an undergraduate degree in business, majoring in Accounting, and an MBA, majoring in Finance, both from the Schulich School of Business at York University. I received the Bronze Medal for Academic Achievement with the third highest GPA (8.1/9.0) in my graduating MBA class.
Professional Experience:
I spent the last several years in capital markets as an equity research analyst, where I would value public businesses and publish investment research reports on individual stocks and industries. Prior to that, I spent 7 years in professional services at a "Big 4" accounting firm in both assurance and advisory.

I can teach students from high school through undergraduate in the following subjects: Accounting, finance, valuation, financial modelling
I tailor my teaching to the individual needs of the students, and focus lessons on specific concepts that may be giving students difficulty. I also employ the use of examples, walking through the process of solving real problems from beginning to end. I believe in teaching principles and approaches to problem solving rather than memorization of information, so that students can apply the key concepts to any variety of situations.
