About Kathryn
I have taught for over 15 years. I have a wide range of experience in teaching various subjects from military intelligence to English as a second language. I am currently working on my second Master's in Science and I love learning as much as I enjoy teaching. I believe that the teacher can learn from the student as much as the student can learn from the teacher in that the student reveals how best they learn through the teacher-student interaction. I have taught in the classroom setting, one-on-one, remote learning, and tailoring to a student's specific skill set. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and growing superprof's students academically.

I'm a current Graduate Student who loves to teach using the Socratic method. I create a comfortable online environment where challenges are met with compassion and encouragement. A typical lesson plan centers around the objective of the student and goal to then build up from throughout our lessons together. What sets me apart as a tutor is my Socratic method of teaching and my passion for both learning and teaching. I believe the obstacles faced in learning are primarily due to the fear of making mistakes or giving wrong answers. As a teacher and tutor, I work diligently to create a learning environment where students feel empowered and comfortable exploring how they best learn through these challenges. My lessons are appropriate for school-aged students, ranging from 5 years old to 18 years old.
