About Mira

My journey with Excel began during university when I discovered how much clarity and efficiency a well-structured spreadsheet could bring to academic and work projects. This interest led me to earn a B.Com in Business Technology and later an M.Sc in Data Analytics, where I deepened my understanding of data organization, analysis, and decision-support tools. Over the past 9 years, I have helped students from diverse backgrounds grow comfortable with Excel by breaking down complex concepts into clear, approachable steps that feel logical and achievable. I value patience, structure, and adaptability in my teaching. Some learners benefit from hands-on examples, while others need visual guidance, formula breakdowns, or repeated practice. I adjust my teaching style to match each student’s pace, helping them gain confidence through gradual skill-building. I also focus on real-life applications—showing students how Excel supports business decisions, project planning, research, and everyday tasks—making lessons meaningful beyond the classroom. Outside of teaching, I continue exploring advanced Excel features, automation tools, and data visualization methods to keep my knowledge current. Helping students transform uncertainty into skill and seeing them realize how powerful and versatile Excel can be remains one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

About the lesson

Excel becomes a powerful tool when learners understand how its functions, formulas, and organizational features work together to solve real problems. My lessons help students build confidence by introducing the most essential Excel skills in a calm, structured, and supportive environment. Beginners learn how to navigate the interface, use basic formulas, create tables, and understand cell referencing through hands-on examples that show how each function fits into real tasks. As students develop comfort, they begin using sorting, filtering, formatting techniques, and foundational data-handling tools to create clean, organized spreadsheets that support clarity and analysis. Each lesson encourages curiosity, patient exploration, and skill-building through practical exercises.

Intermediate learners progress into more advanced formulas, conditional logic, lookup functions, charts, and error evaluation. I guide students step-by-step, helping them understand not only how formulas work but also why they behave the way they do in structured datasets. Lessons emphasize real-world scenarios, such as budget building, project tracking, data organization, and interpretation—teaching learners to think analytically and design spreadsheets that communicate information clearly and effectively.

Advanced lessons explore pivot tables, automation concepts, multi-sheet referencing, dynamic formulas, and data-cleaning strategies. Students learn how to build powerful models, analyze larger datasets, and create polished, professional reports. My goal is to help learners feel confident using Excel independently, whether for academic assignments, business tasks, or personal productivity.
