About Abi
I am a freelance clarinettist, and have performed across the country with ensembles and as a soloist. I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for five years, where I gained both a BMus (hons) and a MMus Artist Masters with distinction. Alongside performing, I've taught for over ten years, to people between 4-74! I'm also a qualified advanced community music leader- that means I've taken creative workshops to people all across the world, and give them a chance to explore their creativity using music, words and movement. My latest trips were to India, Brazil and Holland!

My teaching method is different in every single lesson I teach. Because everyone I teach is different. Having a flexible and engaging approach to my lessons enables every student to get the most out of it; not everyone wants to do exams or competitions, but some people do, and so you can't teach them all the same. My approach to note reading is simple and effective- people have been able to confidently read music in three weeks after having come to me! My ethos is very straightforward - Music is for everyone, so you've got to teach it like that.

Abi is an excellent clarinet tutor - she has been teaching our 15 year old daughter for 6 months to support her Music GCSE & we have been delighted with Abi's lessons. Importantly, our daughter enjoys her lessons with Abi very much & as well as learning a lot from a skilled musician she has fun making music with Abi.
Abi is a wonderful tutor. She has lots of energy, is good fun, but she can be strict when needed. She is expert at getting the best out of my son and he really enjoys his lessons with her. Highly recommended!
