About Shreeya
I’m Shreeya, a second-year Biomedical Science and Computer Science student at the University of Waikato with a lifelong passion for learning and sharing knowledge. Growing up in a family of experienced teachers, I’ve seen firsthand how the right guidance can transform a student’s confidence and performance. I want to teach because I believe every student is capable of success when they’re given clear explanations, the right tools, and encouragement to believe in themselves. For me, tutoring isn’t just about covering content, it’s about helping students feel empowered, motivated, and ready to face challenges with confidence.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to match each learner’s pace, preferred learning style, and specific goals. I focus on simplifying complex biology concepts into easy-to-understand explanations, using real-life examples, diagrams, and interactive questioning to keep lessons engaging. I also provide practice questions and exam strategies to help students feel confident and prepared.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, with the first part dedicated to revising key concepts and the second part focused on applying knowledge through questions, discussions, and problem-solving activities. I also assign optional practice tasks to reinforce learning between sessions.
I am currently a second-year Biomedical Science and Computer Science student at the University of Waikato, with a strong academic background in biology and related sciences. Coming from a family of experienced teachers, I have been familiar with the NCEA curriculum from a young age and keep up to date with current standards. I have tutoring experience with high school students and a passion for helping learners reach their academic potential.
I teach NCEA Level 1–3 Biology, as well as general science for younger students. My lessons are ideal for high school students aged 13–18 who want to strengthen their understanding, improve grades, or prepare for exams.
