About Usman

My name is Usman Khalid, and I’m a certified Level 3 Personal Trainer, qualified through Active IQ UK. I’ve been training clients for nearly 2 years, offering tailored fitness, diet, and supplementation guidance designed to help each individual achieve their unique health and body goals. I specialize in both one-on-one personal training and group coaching, with a strong emphasis on sustainable progress and real results. Alongside personal training, I’ve also worked extensively as a boxing coach. I've trained over 30 fighters, many of whom have competed in national-level competitions. Currently, I serve as the boxing coach at Asia Pacific University (APU), a role I’ve proudly held for the past 1 year and 6 months. Whether your goal is to get stronger, leaner, or more conditioned, I’m here to guide, support, and challenge you every step of the way.

  • 1) At what age did you start practising this sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

    I started training in boxing and strength conditioning in my late teens. At that time, fitness was more of a personal interest, but as I trained consistently, I realized how much discipline, resilience, and focus the sport instilled in me. What began as a hobby quickly became a passion, and over the years it has grown into a path where I now coach and mentor others.
  • 2) What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

    Boxing is the sport I’ve practiced most seriously, coaching fighters who went on to compete at the national level. Alongside that, I enjoy strength training, functional fitness, and endurance-based workouts. As a hobby, I love following and occasionally playing football. A sport I’d still like to explore further is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Which I have already trained for 3 years and I am a blue belt, as I admire the skill and discipline it requires.
  • 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue this craft?

    What drives me most is seeing the transformation in people—physically, mentally, and emotionally—when they commit to training. I know firsthand how fitness builds confidence, focus, and resilience, and I’m passionate about passing that on to others. Coaching isn’t just about workouts; it’s about shaping stronger, healthier, and more disciplined lives.
  • 4) Do you have an achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    I’m proud of training six fighters who went on to compete at national-level boxing tournaments. It was incredibly rewarding to see their hard work pay off, and to know that I had a role in developing their skills, discipline, and confidence in the ring.
  • 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better athlete?

    Every challenge—whether balancing academics with training, managing diverse clients, or pushing myself through setbacks—has taught me resilience and adaptability. Achievements have given me confidence, but challenges have kept me grounded and motivated to keep improving. Together, they’ve made me a more patient, focused, and versatile athlete and coach.
  • 6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

    I would choose Muhammad Ali. His legacy goes far beyond boxing; he inspired millions through his courage, charisma, and principles. I would ask him how he maintained his confidence and composure under the toughest pressures, and how he balanced being both an athlete and a role model.
  • 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

    I focus on building long-term habits and celebrating small wins along the way. Every client has different goals, so I design personalized programs that fit their lifestyle and keep them progressing steadily. I also remind them that setbacks are part of the process, and motivation comes from consistency, not perfection.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof?

    I combine professional qualifications with hands-on coaching experience. With a Certificate IV in Personal Training, years of training clients both in-person and online, and experience coaching competitive boxers, I bring both technical expertise and practical knowledge. Beyond that, I genuinely care about people’s growth. I see coaching not just as teaching fitness, but as empowering people to discover their best selves.
